NextGen TV/ATSC 3.0 Services
ATSC 3.0, also known as Next Gen TV, merges traditional over-the-air broadcasts from local stations with over-the-top Internet-delivered content. For viewers, the new standard means improved video and audio quality, will bring TV reception to phones, tablets and other devices, more localized emergency alerts, and much more.
When ATSC 1.0 was released in 2009, it also established a requirement called PSIP (Program System Information Protocol) for inserting program information and data into the broadcast stream to be displayed on the viewers' screen. Just like the earlier standard, Next Gen TV requires its own data service (Electronic Service Guide) for inserting program data into the new standard's broadcast stream.
To meet this standard, TitanTV's ATSC 3.0 ESGData Service is built on our robust delivery platform. Designed to include rich media content, our ESG data service is the source of the TV programming data that is ingested into the digital broadcast stream. The schedule data ESG is linked to MediaStar, our online TV schedule maintenance tool. This allows last-minute scheduling changes to be made, published, and reflected in the updated ESG within minutes.
TitanTV has been actively involved with the following partners in the development and delivery of the our ESG Data and available Rich Media Services.
